SOCIETY OF MUSICIANS.
The annual meeting of the Society of Musicians of Ota go was held on Saturday, the President (.SJgnor Squarise) being in the chair. The report and balance sheet wore adopted. Signer Squarise, in retiring from the liosition of president, which he had held for many years, becomes by the rules of the society, a vice-president for one year The following officers wow elected : President, Mr J Campbell (iillies; vicepresidents—Mrs Levi, L.R.A.M., Signor Squarise, and Mr A. i'ttilis: secretary and treasurer. Mr Jesse Timson; council —Mrs Mason L.A.8., Madame Von Look, Misses P, Barth, M. Collinson, K. Hartley, I. Yorston, Messrs S. Wolf, 11. E. S. Browning, L.A.B. J. C. Hasten, and J. K. Hartley, A.t.C.L. The subscription was fixed at 10s 6d for tho year. After the business was concluded, Mr J Timson. on behalf of the council and members, made a presentation to Signor Squarise. of a Mosgiel rug. In wishing Signor Squarise an enjoyable holiday during his visit to Europe, Mr Timson spoke highly of the services he had rendered to the society, and expressed tho hope tliat during his many journeys the Signor might be able to pick up information which, might be of use to the profession here. Signor Squarise suitably replied, and thanked the members for their kindness.
