LONDON, January 10. It is suggested by a director of the Museum of Natural History (New York) that the proposed American expedition approach the Antarctic not by Shackleton’s route, but by Goode Island or Wilkes Land. ' j The Daily Telegraph’s New York correspondent believes that the average American is bored with Polar research, and that should an expedition start it will take the easiest route. January 16. Sir E. Shackleton denies the report that he bad formulated another Antarctic expedition. He declares that he will do nothing to embarrass Captain Scott’s expedition. j The Kaiser attended Sir E. Shackleton’s lecture delivered at Grunwald.
