AN ALARMING RUMOUR

It is reported that while the Governor, accompanied by the Premier and a. number of other prominent people, was making an official visit to the West Coast, an attempt was made to wreck the train. The points had been interfered with, and the train narrowly escaped capsizing. The police are inquiring into the matter. January 9. An investigation shows that no deliberate attempt was made to interfere with the Governor's train.
