TERRITORIAL ARMY.
LONDON, January 7. Princess Louise and the Duchess of Argyll, in response to the Duke of Fife's appeal to Londoners, are forming a ladies' committee to promote the recruiting of the territorial forces. It is 'hoped that the movement will spread throughout the Kingdom. January 8. !S^r Haldace (Secretary for War), in the course of an address, claimed that it was not a satisfactory state of affairs that only 207,000 men out of 313,000 Terrir torials required had been enrolled in nine months. If Great Britain were threatened with invasion, he was sure the Territorials would till up rapidly. Anyhow, a force of 527,000 regulars, reserves, and Territorials would be available to met any possible invaders.
