(Fhom Our Own Correspondent.) _ WAIKOUAiTI, August 15. " At a meeting of the General Committee of the Woikouaiti Bowling Club, held on Friday evening, several matters of interest ! to the chib were discussed. Mr R. Templeton (president) occupied the -chair, and all the members of committee were present. ; 'JSie chairman and secretary were authorised ; to borrow from the Bank of New Zealand a ! sum of money sufficient to meet all present ' requirements. Quotations from Dunedin and Christohurch firms for the supply of a heavy vrater-baHaat .aroller were' submitted, end after. consLderajgon it was left to Messrs ! Templeton, Reid, and Fell to make further , inquiries and to procure the roller whioh • they consider most suitable for the green. Mr Thomas Reid announced that he would give a. gold medal as a han<Eoap singles trophy to be competed for during the coming season. It would be a 'good thing for the club if several trophies were presented, i and it is to be hoped that others will follow i Mr Reid's good example. It is intended | to have the green top-dressed and sown i during the present month.
