SOCIAL AT GREEN ISLAND.
A most enjoyable and successful social was held at Green Island on Friday night in the Volunteer Hall by the members of ' the Green Island Bowling Club and their ! numerous friends. The hall, whioh was tastefully and beautifully decorated with flags and evergreens, was fully taxed as far as floor space for dancing -was concerned. ' Several sister clubs were represented, but some old friends and expected visitors were mwsed at the function. The catering, i whioh was done by Mr M'MulTin, gave every satisfaction, and the thanks of the club are specially due to tihose ladies who so kindly presided over the tables and attended to the refreshment part of the social. - The music was supplied by de Lautcmr'e Band, and Messrs Dempster, Sloan,
J. Samson,, and W. Walters, as M.O.s, conducted 'the dance programme most effiV' ciently. The whole affair passed' off most agreeably, again justifying the oft-repeated • remark that bowlers are nothing if not sociable. The committee gained £h© highest praise for its efficient management of the whole arrangements.
