PORT CHALMERS LICENSING COMMITTEE.
The quarterly meeting of -the Port Chalmere Incensing- Committee waa held on the 6th.— On the Bench were Messrs H. Y. Widdowson. S.M. (chairman), C. Hedge, J. Mill, and C. Duke. The transfer of the Marine Hotel from Donald Morrison to WiLiana Barr Allen (Mr Burnard) was granted. An application by Mr Lang to have the probate of the will of the late John Cusack, licensee of the Provincial Hotel, noted on his license was granted, the widow, Margaret Cusack, having carried on the business since the testator's death as sole executrix. Two months' leave of absence was granted to W. F. Bastings, licensee of the Port Chalmers Hotel, his brother, F. Bastings, to take charge meanwhile. The police report on the conduct of the houses was generally satisfactory.
