Bertha Victor, clias Leir, the Aoung •woman who has been masquerading in male attire was before the court to-clav charged with drunkenness, vasrrancy, and usine obscene language. A telegram was received from accused's brother askine that she should he put in a homo, and another person telegraphed asking that she be sent to Wellington. Accused expressed her willingness to enter the Door of Hope, and was ordered to come up for •sentence when called upon, on the understanding that she remain in the institution for three month.6.
