AUCKLAND. April 18. The statist : cs of the port of Auckland for 1906 generally are pleasant rradinz. compared with the returns of 1905. In the Customs revenue the imnort ami export trade returns are phenomenal There arc stratifying increases amounting to £435.000 in imports, to over £525.000 in exports, and to ££6.500 in contribution to the Customs revenues. The t/>tal imports and exnoitfi exceeded £6.750,000. of which nearly a million pounds rcpioronta an increase on last year. Of the increased imports eonsinVrably mo'e than thi (ve-fourths was from within the Emnire. The increased exrcort values arc distributed amouj; nil our products, excepting gum and timber. The butter exnort increased by £107,000. and sold by £260,000. One regrettable feature of the returns is the emigration table.
