THE NATAL TARIFF.
Messrs Moritzson and Co. report : — We liava had a cosnnranication from Durban, Sowtli Africa that the Natal Government have placed an import duty of Id per lb on all frozen meat, which includes gtime and poultry. We presume this would not very much affect the exports of rabbits and poultry freni this country, as, apparently, these things cannot be raised in South Africa. We think, however, it will somewhat affect the frozen mutton business, as Id per lb is of some assistance to the South African sheep farmer.
