The weather and the holidays have affected deliveries of potatoes, and growers are now holding firmly, which has caused a sharp rise. For JDerwents up to J67 10s has L&en paid. POTTLTRY REPORT. NORTH OTAGOUPRODUCE MARKET. (Fsom Ova Own Cohbespondent.) ' . OAMARU, August 20. There is not a great deal doing in wheat, tales being . confined to millers' immediate tequir-ements. A few parcels of prime wheat have found purchasers at up to 3s> Id at sidings, less commission, for Tuscan, 3s for velvet, and 2s lid for red chaff. In one or two

cases" a trifle" more than these prices has been , obtained for velvet and red chaff. The largest Bale reported is a lot of 1400 bags of Tuscan and red chaff, the latter predominating, which was seciired by a local miller at 2s llftd, less v commission, at siding. Allowing for the excess of red chaff, the respective values would be about 3s o|d for the Tuscan and 2s lid for

the red chaff. Both were first-class samples, ■well dressed. Milling seconds have brought 2s* 6d to 2s BdJ' less commission, for various lots.

The market for oats is quiet, a few sales iroing through at up to Is 8d for Gartons and Is 7|d for Danish, while duns, which, appear to be all' clearedup, 'are worth up to 2s. Seed lots are commanding up to 2s for Danish and Gartons, and 2s. 3d for black oats and duns. A few samples of second-class malting barley have been offered without business resulting, maltsters declining to give the 3s 3d to 3s 6d asked. Feed barley has been placed at 2s 2d. Potatoes have advanced substantially during the week, and in -the meantime iJunedin seems to' be slightly the best market. In the last day or two sales have, been made at £10 f.o.b:, and in later at £10 at country station. Offers to ship 'north at £10-10 a f.o.b. liav-e failed to elicit orders, and the export price appears to. be £10.- It is" impossible to induce holders to ' *S»11 at less than £9 10s net at sidings.
