Messrs Thos. Paterson and Co., auctioneers, fruit and produce agents, report for the week ended Tuesday, April 4, as follows: — The market is now barely supplied. Oranges : Islands, 4s to ss. Lemons : Messina, halves, 12s to 12s 6d ; market bare. Bananas : Shipments from Suva expected on Monday, and will arrive to a bare market. Pineapples, 7s 6d to 9s per case. Tomatoes • Christehvirch hothouse, from 4d-; locally-grown. sd ; outside, 2d to 3id. Plums -are in short supplyPeaches, 2d to . 3d ; extra choice. 3Jd to 4d. Apples: Cooking, 2s 6d_ to 5s per case; dessert, 5s to 9s Gd. Raspberries : Buckets, 4d per lb. CucumbeTS, 2s 6d to 4s per dozen. Grapes, 7d to *Hd. Pie melons, 4s 6d to 5s 6d. Produce. — Potatoes: Peninsula, £6 to £6 10s ; Oamaru Derwents, £4 to £5. Onions, £8 to £9. Butter: Fresh, 53 to 6d< (plentiful) ; separator. 8d per lb. Bacon. 6|d to 7|d. Hams, 7|d to Bd. Pigs, 3Sd to 4d per lb. Eggs, Is 4d. Poultry: In fair demand — roosters. 3s to 3s 6d ; hens, 23 to 2s 6d ; ducks, 3s to 4s ; turkeys, wanted.
