DUNEDIN WEEKLY MARKET REPORT.

Messrs A. Moritzson and Co., auctioneers, wool, stock, station, grain, produce, and commission agents, report (wholesale) for the week as under. All qtiotations are subject to market nuctiiations. We would ask farmers when sending samples always to put a- price on them, as buyers do not feel inclined to make offers : —

Wheat. — There is a fair quantity of new -wheat offering. Demand, however, is not strong. We quote. Velvet and Tuscan, 3s sd' to 3s 6d : led sorts, 3s 3d t» 3s 4d; good whole fowl wheat, 3s to 3s Id.

Oats. — Fair demand for good quality, but r.ot many offering. Milling, Is Ocl . B grade, Is fid. Ryecorn, 3s to 3s 2d Barley. — Prime malting, fair demand at 3s 3d to 3a 6cl.

Chaff. — Market in over-supply. Piinie oaten sheaf ohaff. £3 7s (3d to £3 12s 6d ; medium,

Ryegrass. — Fair demand. Cocksfoot. — Farmers' dressed, 3d J.o 3Jd ; machined, 5d to 6d. ' Linseed. — Scarce; nominal value, £10; wanted. Chewings's Fescue. — No demand at present owing to large stocks of last season's. New, season's sample wanted.

Potatoes. — Market well supplied. White sorts selling -5s to 6s ; Derwents (arriving in bad condition), £3 to £5 per ton, according to quality. Rabbltskins. — Suckers and runners, 4id te» 64d ; outgoing 12£ dto 13|d ; late autumns, lljc) to 12d ; autumn blacks, lljd to Is ; earls autumns, 10£ dto lid; winters, 15d to 17d;' winter blacks, up to 22d. Sheepskins. — We hoid sales every Tuesday. We can supoly rabbit and sheep netting, oil cake ; farmers' Fairbanks 4001b scales; £5 10s; Crown sheep dip — casks 3s per gallon, drums 3s 6d ; Berger'sjred and black sheepbranding oil, 4s per gallon; Gibson's cattle brand, 9a for small, and 15s for large tins^ Newton's patent wool presses. £13 each ; clover, rape, and turnip seeds, all freshly landed. Prices on application. Stack covers, 18 x IS, 40a each.

Grass Seed Cleaning. — Our machinery is uj» to date. We have just added a clover polisher, and as we have a machine of the latest type for each kind oi seed, we give from 5 per cent, to 10 per cent, better cleaning results than a machine which cleans all seeds. We also store seed free of charge until cleaned, and keep same insured.

Storing Grain. — We are prepared to store, receive, and deliver, insure, with three months* free storage, at 3d per sack. Our stores are vermin proof and connected with Biding.

FRUIT AND PRODUCE REPORT " Defiance " dried! milk, 9s 9d per dozen (four dozen in case). Butter.— Prime salt, 6d, 8d ; off, 6d to 7d; separator in lib pats, 8d to 9d; storekeepers' lots, 4Jd, 5Jd (in full supply).

Onions.— Colonial, £9 to £11. Honey. — Demand is not very strong. Prices are ruling from 3£d to 4d for good qualitySection honey in demand, 8s per dozen pound! sections.

Beeswax is 4d, wanted. Eggs (keen demand), Is sd. Walnuts, 5d to 6d, wanted. Bacon.— Rolls, Bd. Hams, 8d to B*d. Pigs.— For sizes up to 1601b, first-class dairyfed quality, from 4<L Butter boxes, with parchment linings, we can supply at 18s per dozen. Vickery's egg preservative, 20s per case of 8 gallons. Poultry. — Apply for particulars for export. Prices as under: Roosters, 41b each each (live weight), 3s per pair ; hens, 3£lb each (live weight), 2s 9d per pair; hens and! loosters, 2Jlb each (live weight), 2s 3d per pair; ducks and! ducklings, 41b each (live weight) 3s 9d per pair; ducks below 41b, 3s. Hens and chickens must not weigh below 2111* each ; ducks not below 3lb each, as the department will not pack light weights. All poultry, must be- consigned to poultry depot, and prices, are free of railage. Fruit. — We receive consignments by every steamer from Australia, the Islands, and our own colony, and hold sales daily on arrival of consignments. Sacks. — We can quote 44in corn sacks, 6st 6d; 16in, 6s 9d : 48in, 7s; second-hand grain sacks, 5s 6d ; good flour sacks, 5s per dozen, demand limited.
