DUNEDIN WEEKLY MARKET REPORT.

Messrs A. Moritzson and Co., auctioneers, wool, stock, station, giain,, pioducc, and commission agents, report (wholesale) for the week as under. All quotations vie subject to market fluctuations. We would ask fanners when sending samples always to put a price on them, as buyers do not feel inclined to make offers: — Wheat. — No improvement; unchanged. Velvet and Tuscan, 3s to 3s Id; Red chaff end Hunters, 2s lid lo 3s; good whole fowl wheat, 2s 3d, 2s 4d (ex store) Oats. — Oats unchanged. We have sold B grade at Is 3kl to Is 4d ; milling, Is -5d ; inferior unsaleable. Demand for bright feed is biisk, but stocks of these are almost nil, and inferior sorts have veiy little attention. B grade are wanted. PiQue milling, I 3 sd; blight short feed, Is 3d to Is 4d ; inferior, lid to Is 2d.

Ryecorn, 3s to 3s 2d Barley. — Prime malting:, fair demand at 3s to 3s 3d ; milling, 2s 3d ; feed, 2s.

Chaff. — Market glutted. Prime quality, £2 7s Gd to £2 12s 6d ; medium and inferior unauleable. Straw, 25s to 30s. Turnips. — Loose, 12s 6d to 15s.

Carrots, £2.

R-cgr"-s2. — Fair demand. We have soltS a/S:' Farmers' dressed, 2s to 2s Gd; machined, 3s 63 to 4s.

Cocksfoot. — Owing to small crop and high prices in London, tins seed is con^idei-ab'y firmer. We have sold farmers' lines fro.n 3\d to 4^d; machined seed, aid lo Gd.

Liinseed.— From £8 to £10 per ton, as per quality. Cliev.'ins's's Fescue. — No demand at present

owing to large stocks of last season's. We anticipata low prices for new seed.

Potatoes — -Market fully supplied. Prime Derwents se'ling at £1 15s to £2 per ton for prime; inferior and white sorts unsaleable.

Rabbitskms. — Suckers and runners, 4Jd to 6Jd; early autumns, 9Jd to 10Id; late au'.umns, 12-id to 13id; autumn blacks, HJd to Is, "winters, 15d to 17d ; winter blacks, up to 22d. Sheepskins.— We hold sales every Tuesday. The demand is very keen for all classes, and extreme prices are being paid. Crossbred and halfbred, 5s 6d to 5s 8d; medium 4s 6d to as 3d ; inferior do, 2s 6d to 3s Sd ; pelts, large, Is 9d to 2s ; small, Is to Is 6d ; lambs, good, 3s 3d to 3s 9d; small, 2s 6d io 3s. Top prices guaranteed.

Hides. — We quote : Prime ox, 5Jd to sjcl ; heavy do, 5Jd to 6fd; light to medium, l\d to 5Jd ; cows — heavy, 4£d to 4|d ; medium, 4£d to 4| ; light, Id to 4Jd. Horsehair, 13£ dto 15d; bale lots, 15Jd. Our next sale takes place on the 11th.

Country sales conducted on most leasonable terms. We can supply rabbit and sheep netting, .oil cake; farmers' Fairbanks 4001b scales, £5 10s; Crown sheep dip — casks 3s per gallon, drums 3s 6cl; Berger's red and black sheepbranding oil, 4s per gallon; Gibson's cattle brand, 9s for small, and 15s for large tins; Newton's patent wool presses, £13 each ; clover, rape, and turnip seeds, all freshly landed. Prices on application. Stack covers, 18 x 16, 40s each.

Grass Seed Cleaning. — Our machinery is up to date. We have just, added a clover polisher, and as we have a machine of the latest type for each kind of seed, we give from 5 per cent, to 10 per cent, better cleaning results than a. machine which cleans all seeds. We also store seed free of charge until cleaned, and keep same insured.

Storing Grain. — We are prepared to store, receive, and deliver, insure, with three months' free storage, at 3d per sack. Our stores are vermin proof and connected with, s-iding.

FSTTIT AND PBODSCE BEPOHT

Butler. — Prime salt, 8d ; off, 6d to 7d ; separator in lib pats, 9d; storekeeper's lots 6d to 7d. Eggs. — Fresh, Is 4d; preserved, lid. Cheese —Factory, 4|d to 5Jd; loaf, 5Jd to s|d; dairy, 4Jd to 5rT.

Honey. — Demand is not very strong. Prices •re ruling from 3Jd to 4d for good quality. Section honey in demand, 8s per dozen pound sections. Beeswax is 4d, wanted. Onions. — Prime, 7s: just landed. Walnuts, 4Jd to o^d^ wanted. Bacon. — Rolls, Sd. Hams, 7id to Bd. Pigs. — For sizes up to 1601b, first-class dairyfed quality, from 4d to 4|d.

Butter boxes, with parchment linings, we can supply at 18s per dozen.

Vickery'e egg preservative, 20s per case of 8 gallons.

Poultry (export). — We have an unlimited demand for boiling fowls and chickens at Ss; ducks, 4s ; and turkeys. Large quantities required for the next South African steamer. Please consign all poultry to us, Dunedin, Government Poultry 3>epot, and advise us.

Poultry (local). — Geese, 4s 6d to ss.

Fruit. — We receive consignments by every steamer from Australia, the Islands, and our own colony, and hold sales daily on arrival of consignments.

Sacks. — We can quote 44in corn sacks, 6s 3d; second-hand grain sacks, 4s 9d ; good flour sacks, 4s 6d doz. There is a considerable saving in taking these to the farmer. Ovo egg preservative now 'on hand.
