Quotatioi-s: Fat wethers, 19s 6d to 20s 6d; lambs, 13s 6d to 14s 3d; brokenmouthed ewes, 9s to 10s; fat heifers, £6 5s to SH 2s; three-year-old bitllocks, £6 2s; dahy cows, £1 10s to j£6 Balclutha Stock Sale. — Otago Fanners' Co-operative Association of New Zealand (Limited) report: We held our usual fortnightly sale at the Corporation yards, Balclutha, on Friday, 9th inst. There was a very small yarding all lound, especially of sheep, only a few hundreds being penned, all of which sold freely at late quotations. We yarded 50 head cattle, and cleared our entry at satisfactory prices. Several pens of pigs realised good prices. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report holdung a clearing sale on the 9th 111 st. at Kiness Farm on behalf of the outgoing owner (Mr Wm. Moore), who is taking ixp his lesidence in the North Island. A large gathering of the neighbouring farmers was there. The horses, which were a vary useful lot. brought up to market rates. The sheep (ewes) were a good line, and sold accordingly ; the implements, which were an good condition, sold quite up to the aveiage of prices ruling at similar sales. They also he'd a clearing sale on the 14th inst. at Mr John A. Stewait's dairy farm at Saddle Hill. Mr Stewart's lease having expiied by effluxion of time, everything was sold to ths highest bidder. The dahy cows, which were a. serviceable lot, sold from £6 10s to £5, and the implements, of which there were not many, realised satisfactoiy prices.

Sheepskins. — The usual weekly sales wereheld on Tuesday, when small catalogues were offered. There was a gocd attendance o£ buyers, and bidding was very spirited. Quotations: Best dry nisnr.os, 6d to 7d per ib ; medium, 4d to sid ; best dry halfbreds, 6d to 6Jd ; medium, 4d to sd ; best dry crossbreds, 6d to BJd ; medium, 3gd to sd ; green crossbreds, 3s 6d to 4s 9d each ; lambskins, 2s 9d to 3s 6d.

Hides. — No sa-les since last report.

Rabbitskius. — Small catalogues were offered at Monday's sales to a full attendance of buyers. Competition was -very keen, prices showing a slight advance on those obtained st last sale. Quotations : Winter greys, 13Jd to 15Jd ; autumns. j2d to 141 d; springs, 9d +0 12d ; summers, o^d to Sd ; suckers and small, 3d to sid per lb.

Tallow and Fat. — All consignments arriving are readily placed Quotations: Best tallow, 19s to 21s ; medium, 15s to 18s ; inferior, 12s to 14s 6d, best fat, 15s to 163 ; medium, 13s to 14s 6d ; inferior, 103 to 12s 6d per cwt.

Grain. — Oats: During the past week there was a good inquiry for B grade, but little business resulted, holders asking slightly more than merchants are prepared to give for thi3 quality. There is also some inquiry for A grade, but very few lines of this class are offering. Inferior and diFcoioured lines are almost unsaleable. Quotations : Prime milling, Is 4id to Is 5Jd; good to best feed, Is 3d to Is 4d., inferior, lid to Is 2d per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat: In milling quality there is little business passing. Owing to the unsettled state of the flour rna.rket millers confine their purchases to small lines of prime quality. Medium sorts are unasked for, but for fowl wheat tliere is still a, fair demand. Quotations: Prime milling, 2s 9d to 2s lid; medium to gocd, 2s 4d to 2s 8d; whole fowl wheat, 2s 2d to 2s 3d; broken and damaged, Is 9d to 2s Id per bushel.

Potatoes. — The market is still over-suppheci, and sales are very difficult to make even at late rates Quotations- Prime Derv.ents, 3Ss to 37s 6d ; other sorts. 27s 6d to 32s 6d per lon (bagji in). Chaff. — Prime oaten sheaf is scarce, and meets with ready palel Medium and inferior lines have but little attention. Quotations: Prime oaten sheaf, J-2 10s to £2 ISs ; medium to good, £2 to S3. 7s 66 ;, light, £1 103 to £1 17s 6d per ton (bags extra).
