MOERAKI.
February 2. — The Public School picnic was Jreld at Moeraki on Saturday, when, the weather being perfect, a most enjoyable time was spent by both adults and children. At half-past 12 tea and eatables- were handed round, after ■which, followed the usual games and races. These were interspersed with dances on the green, scrambles for lollies by the children, , >an<l liberal helpings of fruit. At 5 o'clock tea •was again served up. Rain, unfortunately, then came on, and caused a splendid! day's outing to be brought to a close earlier than ■would otherwise have been the case. Special thanks are due to Messrs A. Hull (chairman), A. Southerwood (secretary), and W. Campbell (treasurer), and to the ladies who ably assisted in making the annual school treat the success it undoubtedly was.
