Messrs Dalgety and Co. report having received the following cable fram their head office, dated London, February 1 : — "Wool sales closed firm and active, with brisk competition. As compared with closing lates of last series, any change in price of greasy merino wools (inferior, faulty, and earthy wools excepted) is in favour of buyers. Scoured merino wools in general are 5 per cent, higher ; fine crossbred wools on a par with closing nates of last 6eries; medium and coarse orcesbred wools 10 per cent, higher. Out of the net quantity available for sale some 65,000 bales have beyi sold for home consumption, 60,000 bale 3 tor the Continent, 5000 bales for Anyn-ica. leaving 7000 bales to be carried forward to the next

The New Zealand Loam and Mercantile Agonoy Company has received the following advice by cable, dated 2nd inst., from their London office: — "Wool: Since close of last sales prices are about 5 per cent, higher for medium greasy and medium scoured crossbred. The sales clceed firmly this day." Tho Department of Industries and Commerce has reo&ived the following cablegram fiom the Agent-general, dated London, February 2: — "The wool sales concluded with active d/>mand at full prices. The demand is likely to continue for some time. 'I lie manufacturers have not been able to procure sufficient supplies to cover requirements. The following, are the estimated values ruling: — Fine crossbred, from lid to Is Ojd ; medium crossbred, 9d to lO^d; coaroe, 7d to B^d ; superior merino, Is to Is 1 2-3 d; medium, lOd to 11 2-3 d; inferior, 8d to 9 2-3 d."
