At the Homebush sales sheep were in strong demand. Wethers realised 18s 6d to 255 ; ewes, 18s to 21s. Cattle were lower. Best bullock, £10 10s to £10 14s ; good. £9 10s ; best cows, £7 10s ; good, £6 103. Best beef, 24s 6d per 1001b. February 8
At the Homebush sales values were very high. Wethers realised 21s to 275. No ewes were catalogued. Cattle showed an improving tendency. Best bullocks, £10 10s to £12 Gs • good, £9 10s ; best cows, £7 15s to £8 13s ; good £Q ss. Best beef, 24s 6d per 1001b. MELBOURNE, February 4.
At the hide auctions supplies were small. Stouts realised 6d to 7£d ; heavy, to 5Jd ; average and medium, to 4|d. For tallow the demand was brisk. Prime mutton, nominal, £25; prime mixed, £22; good mixed, £21 10s.
