GLACIER PEAK.
A snowy pyramid, in splendour dressed! Unshaken by the storms of ages past, That rolled their thunderous anthems through tho blast, Thou liftcat slill a proud and sparklhig crest, AVhere some red, radiant .messenger of God, From the great pulsing universal heart Far sent, to live a brave and human part, Might pause, to rest winged feet with lightning shod, And draw deep breaths of purity and life, And on thine altar summit kneel in prayer, Where mountain fastnesses of God are fair; Then, with a sword of light amid the strife, Redeem a sullen world- with storm and stress From the abys3 of greed and littleness. — TiiE Rebel. March, 1903.
