YE RHYMSTERS.
Ye rhymsters who rave by the ream, Ye tiuubsters, detestably vain, Come forth ,by the far-falling stream, By tho strength of the slow-heaving main. Commune with the spirits who hold Dominion o'er forest and ctalo When ihc summit is tinted with gold, And the cloud crccpeth over the vab. Commune with the spirits who hold Dominion where grasses are dank, And where soft, silken cloudlets enfold The mountain's dark-forested flank. Commune with tho spirits who hold Dominion by bummits sublime, And where long hollow breakers have rolled, D-eep-toued, Irom the dawning of time. Commune with the spirits who hold Dominion where sun over sun And planet primeval is rolled, But shun ye, poor rhymslers, O shun, The Prince of the Powers of the Air! His legions r.Ye subtle and strong; Their philosophies lead us, O where? How lo::g, Ho.'y Father, how long? — Mitchell. April, 1903.
