The Egmont Farmers' Union (Limited) report under date Hawera, March 29 • — At Stratford on the 22nd inst. about the advertised number of stock came forward. Although the attendance was small, theio wa3 a fair amount of business transacted. Fat cowe, £i Is to £4 10s ; store cows, £3 to £3 9s , heifers and calves, £3 10s to £3 19s 6d; 18 to 20 month Iheifers in calf, £2 4s to £3 2s 6d ; weaners to yearlings, £1 Is to £1 14s 6d; 2 to 2} year steers, £3 10s to £3 16s; bulls, £1 10s to £3 6s. We held our usual fortnightly sale at the Clover road yards. Hawera, on the 28th inst , when we submitted a full yarding of both cattle and sheep. Bidding at the hammer was ciulJ, but a fair amount of business was done, after, elightly under vendors' reserves. Fresh forward bullocks, £5 10s to £5 18s 6rl ; 2 to 2J year steers, £3 18s to £4 3s; fat cows, £1 13 to £4 15s; store cows, £3 2s to £3 14s; cows and calves, £4 to £4 8s ; weaners, 15s to £ 1 Bs. Sheep : Two-tooth ew es, 13s , ewes, mixed uses, 14s; fat ewes, 13s 2d. Pigs, 13s to £1 17s.
