PORTOBELLO
April 1. — The ordinary meeting of the Road Board was held on Saturday last, present — Messrs W. Dickson (chairman), Hinkley, Milne, North, Paeon, Beaton, and Macandiew. The cleik was instructed to infoim Miss M'Kenzie that the board had considered the matter of a culvert at Wavtrley House, and were of opinion that thej have no jurisdiction in the matter. The toll collector reported that £40 4s 9d was collected during the month. It was resolved to call for applications for the position of ranger at next meeting. Mr William Winton wrote Mking to have Mr Alexander Winton's name
