We would remind farmers that the entries close fur the field t.urnip competitions on May 24. Since these classes were advertised Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. ha\e offered to give a handsome marblo an 1 bronze clock for the best 10 acres or over of turnips (any variety). Particulars of these competitions will appear in the schedule. Also on behalf of Thomas's Phosphate Union and German Potash Works of Hamburg for competition next year, for the best 10 acres or over of turnips (any variety) to be grown by the use of the syndicate's manures, three tons phosphate meal and two tons of kainit. It is anticipated that the show this year will be one of the best ever held m Dunedin In order to facilitate the exhibition of dairying machinery, etc., the committee have decided to eTeet shafting, which will enable the public to see the various machines in motion. It is anticipated that th^ show will be visited by. their Royal Highnesses on the opening day, therefore the committee hope that competitors in all classes will use every endeavour to make the show an unqualified success.
