CROMWELL, September^. The Merrimac dredge is completed, ancL thel controctors' men have left, but no crew ia ready to commence work.
Good progress has been mads -with the construction of the other dredger. •The Maori is being fitted with new pins ancf rollers, and was not dredging this" week. I have seen an Sdwt nugget, got on the oankof the Gold Chair claim.
