OWNERS' REMINDERS May 28 — North Otago acceptances.
The Winter race meeting to be held at Wingatui on Thu "c\v, 24th (Queen's Birthday), and Saturday, 26th, gives promise of being one of the most successful gatherings | held by the Dunedin Jockey Club for a number of years. There are several North Island horses engaged, besides the ustml Canterbury contingent ; while more southern and local horses than usual have entered. In addition .; to this, the Winter Show is being held this [ week, therefore the town should be full of j visitor.-, most of whom will no doubt attend , the racas during the day. j Mr Piper, the well-known starter, having j undertaken this responsible position, the pubi lie may rest rssm'ed that each race will be ■ started strictly up to time. The inside lotali1 &ator will be worked at £1 and the outside at ' 10s tickets, and as one dividend is struck . there is now no necessity for investors to run I from or.c machine to the other to see which is paying the Hrgest dividend. ! To ensure the races starting sharp to time, jockeys are reminded that unless they have their hor»es on the course a Quarter of an
hour before the advertised time of starting they will be liable to a fine. The catering at the stand luncheon booth is^ again in the hands of Miss Murray, and patrons may rely, upon being well looked after in this department. Mr W. Wood is again in charge of the ladies' tea rooms. The first race will start at 12.30 and the lasfc at 4-. 30.
