Dalgety. and" Co. (Lintited) and Stronach "Bros, and Morris report a most satisfactory sale of surplus sheep on account of "'Messrs W. and T. Telford at Clifton on Friday, the 14th inst., when they submitted to a large collection of buyers 4174, and sold every lot at auction. Rain fell heavily throughout the day, and the sheep did not sho,w to advantage ; but buyera. knowing tho stock -offered, competed eagerly for all descriptions, and prices ruled as follows': — 161 wethers brought 12s 8d ; 418 ewes. 11b Id ; 204 lambs, 10s 4d ; 465 ewes, 9s 6d ; 288 ewe 9, 9a 4d ; 270 ewes, 9a Id ; 145 ewes, 8h lid ; 349 ewes. 8s 9d ; 183 wethers, 8s 8d ; 53 ewes. 8s Id ; 200 wethers, 7s lOd ; , 0 293 merino wethers. 7s ; 248 ewes, 63 Id ; 107 ewes, 6s 3d ; 300 lambs, 5s 6d ; 153 cull wethers. 5s 3d ; 146 merino ewes, 4s 6d ; and 156 cull ewes, at 2s sd.
