THE ROCKLANDS CLEARING SALE.
There was a veiy large attendance at the dieplenishing sale held at Rocklands Farm, , Warepa, on Thursday, when a sale took place on account of Mr George Smith, who a mouth of six weeks ago disposed of this very fine farm to Mr William Marshall, who has been manager of the Finegand estate for the last 14- years. Buyers were present from Dunedin, Taieri, Tapanui, and Tokomairiro. The sale was a very extensive one, Mr Smith having his plac--) well stocked with dead., and live "stock of all kinds, and all of a superior quality. Mr J. W.- Wilson (Wilaon, Mackay, and Co.) wielded the hammer for the most part, but he waf. ably assisted by Mr J. A. Duthie, of Milton. Mr Smith had everything well arranged, and no' time, was wasted. The live stock were all in capital condition, and the implements in » good state of repair. Bidding throughout tho sale was very keen, and highly satisfactory prices were realised. The draught horse 3, a first-class lot, realised £42, £34, £36 10«, £31 10s, £26, £25, £31 10s, £29; aged, £14 10s, £16, £20; mares, £39. £27, £36 ; foals, £8, £9 10s, £12 ;" hacks and • harness hoivea fetched £13 10s, £13, £14-; two-year-olds, 6 to 10 guineas.
