Fat Cattle.— 222 head were yarded at Burnside for this week's sales, si proportion of which showed fair to good beef. The balance comprised aged cows_ and from half to three-parts fat steers. Competition was fairly activo for all good sorts, and prices for such differed but little compared with last week's, while indifferent sorts were difficult to place at a considerable reduction. ; Best bullocks brought £8 10d to £9 12s 6d ; medium to good, £7 to £8 5s ; inferior and light, £4 5s to £6 10s ; bfest cows, £5 10s to £6 10a ; medium, £3 15s to £4 17* 6d ; aged and light, £2 10* to £3 10s.— The New Zealand Loan ano Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) sold : For Mr J. Country Sales.— Dalget? and Co. (Limited) report having held a clearing sale of dairy cattle for Mr T. J. Harrison (Port Chalmers). There was a fair attendance of buyers, and the^vhole of the stock and implements were cleared at good prices. Cows brought to £6 ; implements very satisfactory prices. They also report having held their monthly sale at Palmerston on Tuesday the 7th mat. Thevo was a full yarding of she.ep, all of winch were cleared at -very fair prices. Cattle^ Were but poorly represented, all on offer being in very low condition. They sold 650 sheep at following rates :— Crossbred wethers ( two and fouctooth), 9s to 9s 6d ; do ewes (do), 8s 6d to 9i 3d ; do (full-mouthed), 6s fid to 7s b'd ; do lainba (very good), 8s 4d ; do (inferior to fair), 3s 3d te 4s 9d ; dairy cows, £3 to £4 ss. , Rabbitakins.— Moderate catalogues aye offered at the weekly auction sales, which meet with a very fair demand, prices being realised relatively higher than those obtaining at Home.
