Fat Cattle.— A full market. 222 nead being yarded. This proved more than w»s tequired, and there was a decline on last week's values of about 10s psr head for prime sorts, and 15s to 20s par head on half -finished animals. Most of the latter class were taken up by graziers, and had it not bsen for their competition prices would have been even worse. Prime bullocks brought £8 to £9 10s ; good do, £6 10s to £7 10s ; medium, £5 10a to £6 ; light and half-fat sorts. £4 to £5 Wb yarded 70 head, and sold : For Mr J. M. Roderick (Greenhills), 3 bullocks at £7 < 10s, 2 do*t£7 6«, 3do at £6 7s 6d ; Mr William Kirke, 2 prime bullocks at £8 17s 6d ; Mr J. A. Hampton (Mata Falls), 1 bullock at £7 17s 6d, 3 do at £7 7s fid. 3do at £5 103 ; Mr E. Hodgkinsoo (Kurow), 15 bullocks at £4 2-; 6d to £7 17a 6d. Prices were much the same as last week. Prime heavy crossbred, 13s 6d to 15s ; medium do, lls to 13s ; tight, 9* to 10s 6d ; prime crossbred ewes, lls to 12s 6d ; one pen extra prime, lls 9d ; medium do, 8s 6d to 10^ ; light, 5s to 7s 6d. We yarded and sold 603 as follows : For Mr J. Cleghorn (Tapanui), 60 very prime ewes at lls 9d to 14s 9d ; N.Z. A. Company (Waimea), 108 crossbred ewes at lOe «5d to lls ; Mr J. W. Francis, 30 prime ero««bre<J wethers at 14s 6d ; Mr Geo. Nichol (Taurima), 68 crossbred wethers at 13s 9d, and 50 crossbred av/e% at 8s 9d ; Measrs John Reid and Sons, 61 half, bred wethers 10* 6d to Us 6d ; Messrs J. Kemp, A. B. Kitchener, E.'Gallagher, D. Andrews, Jf. S. Alexander, and others, 226 at quotations. Fat Lambs.— 6s6 yarded, mostly only i\pva3 We yarded 231, and' sold at 53 3d to 5u 6d. Store Cattle.— We yarded 53 steers *nd bullock*, and sold : For Messrs Dickson Bros. (Portohello), 36 bullocks at £3 lls to £5 2s ; and Mr S. S. Cantrell, 11 small steers at £3 8s 6d. Piga.— Only 40 yarded. Owing to scarcity of feed there is little sale for anything except gos* porkers and baconers. For the latter we have an almost unlimited demand, and could place « very large nnmber at good values. Country .Sales. — On Monday last we sold for Mr j ■ James Beattie, juii., at Highcliff, the whole of his -: herd of dairy cattle ; also implements and utensils.
