The revenue collected at the Dunedin Cuitom House during the past month on goods cleared for consumption amounted to £28,155 4s sd. The beer duty for the month came to £1407 7s 4d. In the corresponding month of last year the sum of £24,124 2s 9il was collected on goods, and the beer duty amounted to £1252 lls 2J.

Thb Egmont Farmers' Union (Limited) report under date Hawera, June 2 :— At our hoi ss fair on the '28th ult. a Lirge nnmber of horses cams forward, but the quality of the majority of them was not up to the usual standard. Although the attendance was large, only a few of thehotses elected keen competition. We quote :— Draught horses, £15 to £18 10s ; light harness horses £8 5s to £13 10s ; hacks, £3 to £9 153. On the Ist inst. at Manaia our yards were well filled with cattle and sheep. The attendance was larger than usual, and bidding on the whole was more auimated than for months past and with a decided improvement for all claases of stock. We quote :— Forward bullocks, £4 to £4 6s ; fat cows, £2 17s 6d to £3 2s ; yearling 3, £1 5s to £1 7s ; springing heifers, £2 153 to £3 15s ; 18-month heifers, £1 2s 6dl to £1 7s 6d. ; store cows, £1 5s to £1 13s : fat and forward wether/3, 9s 7d ; fat ewes, 63 6d to 7s lOd ; lambs, 4s 3d to 4s 7d.
