Maclean and Co. report a small yarding all round at Burnside this week, but notwithstanding this fact prices in most cases nhow a considerable fall on last week's rates. The trade being fully supplied, competition lacked spirit, and them was a general feeliuK of depression prevalent all day Only a few pens of really prime cattle were yarded, but these as usual were well competed for, although prices were lower ; but medium and inferior sorts were almost given away In sheep sales opened pooriy, but became move animated towards the close, nevertheless a drop of Is 6d to 2s per head took place. Lambs were p 'orly represented, but all were taken at full rates Pigs weie in short supply, and eagerly taken at an advance on last week's rates. Cattle — We yarded 30 head of all descriptions, and sold for Rfessrs J. H. Jaffrsv. R. Craigie and Sons, W. LimUay, D. Andrew, T. Porterfield, T. Lynn, W. Townley, J. Mathesoa, and others, bullocks and cows at market rate?. Shei-p. —^Ve yarded six pans, and sold for Messrs James Wyllie, W. Dunn, and others at current rat's. Shoepskins and Rabbilskins. — The sales are fully attended by the trade, and all lots offering ars well compel eel for and taken at full prices. Grain and Pioduce. - \S heat maintains the advance recently reported, and up to 4s 6cJ can be got for prime lines Oats are if anything slightly easier but without auy change in valnss, and we do not look for much alteration m prices for some time. Barley keeps firm at late quotation'!, and all lots offering :tre rjf>t lons in beiuj; placed. Potatoes have not, so far kept pace with other lines, and £3 5s i& the top price for noithurn and £3 for southern. Chaff tinned rapidly during the week, and prime is now saleable at £4 5s to £4 7s ud pother qualities iv proportion.
