Notes from Lyell.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Lyell, June 26. Lyell Creek Company.— The mine manager reports :—" The winze has been sunk a. further distance of 7ft, making the total distance 37ft. In the beginning of tho week the resf cut out. Whether the reef has taken a heave in the haneing wall lam unable to say yet. The sinking is in nice soft black slate, and I expect to pick up the reef again a few feet further. June 27. The Cocksparrow Dredge.— The dredgemaster reports: "The 1 returns for the week is 3boz 14dwt amalgam for 120 hourff dredging. We 1 started - dredging .on Monday at 4 a.m. after effecting repairs to the pump. Since that we have had another stoppage of 14 hours. At present everything is working welL"
