Eggs. — Veiy scarce, Is Bd. Butter.— Fresh (fairly p'.entiful), 6J to lOd ; best local, Is Id ; suit, prime, 7d ; inferior, no inquiry. Potatoes —Very little inquiry, best, Sss. Poultry — Plenty offering, but no 'demand. Youug cocks, such as in previous years sold readily at 3s to 4s (3d, now paly bring 2s to 2j 6d ; clucks, 2< !)J to 3s S)d ; hens. Is 10d to ?s 3d ; tuikey cock*, 6i to 7d per lb ; hens, Id. Fruit.— Local is nearly done. Apples bring 3s 91 to 4s i) I ; imported, 5s 3d to 6h 9d. Pears : No local offering; imported, cooking, 5a 6d to 7s; desssrt, 10s to Ms. Toinu' oes, quite off sale, Id tol?d. Dkapkry and Clothing, as wual, keeps us busy, although we believe many are complaining. We have just opened up a stock which was bought for us in London at half price, and we think we can fairly claim to offer value which has never been equall'd before. It is, of course, impossible for us to enumerate any lines in this limited space, but if out fiieuds will look out for next we k's Witness they will be pleased. Fukmture i 3 a fearful truie. We have a big capital invested in it, which we shall be glad to get out, and consequently are prepared to take very low price?. To enable us to do so, if required we will give very easy terms.
