The Perpetual Trustees, Estate, and Agency Company op New Zealand (Limited) offered for sale by public auction yesterday afternoon several properties at the north end of the tows. The lease for 60 years of parts of sections 64 and 65, block XX, Dunedin, having a frontage to George street of 80ft, was sold, after spirited bidding, to Mr A. Solomon at 37s per foot, equal to a yearly rental of £148. Mr Petrie'B quarter-acre section and house in Clyde street, and another quarteracre section at the corner of George and Dundaa streets, with two houses, were also offered, but as there were no bidders the properties were passed in.
At the Invercargill Land Office the leases of a number of small grazing runs were submitted to sale by auction. There was a good attendance but little competition, tha following being tho only sales effected :— RunsNos.2oand2l, Hokonui district, N.Z.M. and I. Co. ; No. 25, R. Campbell and Sons ; Nos. 30 and 34, Takitimo and Central Hill districts, N.Z.L. and L. Co. ; Nob. 35 and 37, Centre Hill district, N.Z.L. and L. Co. ; sections 80 and 82, Wairaki district, Norman G. Chalmers ; sections 13 to 28. 30 to 34, 36 to 46, 48 to 50, 63, 54, and 57, block V, Oteramika (gravel and bush reserves), Alexander Anderson, Waituna ; part of block XV (2200 acres), Charles Hansen, Fortroso ; section 119, Takitimo district, M'Lees Brothers ; part of section 5, block IV, Aparima Hundred, Robert Bates, Otautau.— Southland Times.
