LAND SALES.

Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. (in conjunction with the New Zealand Land Association) report having offered at Gore, on Saturday last, the whole of the properties in the estate of tho late Thomas Trumble. The trustees had definitely made up their minds to sell, if at all possible, but for some reason or other the attendance of buyers

was not up to expectations, and in consequence no business transpired at the auction, although immediately afterwards lot 2a, being sections 2, 3, and 4, block 11, Slopedown, containing 718 aOr lp, was sold to Mr Samuel Rogerson at a satisfactory price, and the auctioneers intimated that the rest of ihe properties would be for private sale at extremely low prices, in order that tho estate might be closed. Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. (in conjunction with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company) report having sold privately to Mr Samuel Rogerson, of Otarara, at a satisfactory figure, sections 7, 8, 9, 13, and 16, block 11, Slopedown district, containing 1540 acres. This block of land is one of the properties in the estate of the late Thomas Trumble, which were offered at auction in Gore on Saturday, June 23. The auctioneers also report a considerable amount of inquiry for the remaining properties, and as the executors in the estate mean to realise at once, further sales will probably be made at an early date.
