The amount of customs revenue collected at the Dunedin office for the month of June was £23,836 8s 3d, and the beer duty £939 4s Bd. For the corresponding month of last year the customs amounted to £23,493 4s, and the beer duty to £940 Issd.
Mr E. P. Burbury (New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company) reports the sale of a parcel of old velvet wheat at 2s 9id, ex store, Oamaru, sacks sd. This is the best price which has been realised locally for some time. — Oamaru Mail.
Mr R. B. Bennett, the Christchurch agent of Henry S. Fitter and Sons, has received the following cablegram from the London office, dated 2nd July :—": — " Canterbury mutton, 3?d to 4Jd ; lamb, 4Jd to 5Jd ; Wellington mutton, 3Jd to 3Jd ; lamb, 4d to 4Jd ; Otago mutton, 3Jd to 3}d ; Australian Bheep, 2Jd ; do beef — hindquarters 2Jd to 2|d, forequarters ljd to 2d." The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following cablegram from their London office:— "The wheat market is inactive ; weather unfavourable. New Zealand wheat average is worth 24s 9d per 4961b ; other quotations unchanged since last telegram."
