PROPERTY SALES.
Our Gore correspondent writes : — The Farmers' Agency Company have succeeded in placing' Messrs Fraser and M'Lean's well-known farm, situated between Gore and Mataura. It consists of 1000 acres, and was sold at LlO per acre, the purchaser being Mr W. F. Ward, of Cattle Flat. The same company have also sold, during the week, three other farms, ranging from 200 to 500 acres, at satisfactory prices. A number of other changes are also reported. The Farmers' Agency Company have also (on Wednesday) concluded the sale of the Smithfield farm, of 400 acres. The Mutual Agency Company of New Zealand (Limited), as agents for Mr John Reid, report having sold by auction at their rooms, Jetty street, Dunedin, on Saturday, July 16th, 176 acres of light bush land, situated at Mount Charles, in the Peninsula district, at L 3 Is per acre, Mr John Nyhon being the purchaser. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company have received the following cablegram from their London office, dated 10th July: — " Frozen meat : Mutton market steady. Lamb market unchanged. Beef market firmer; New Zealand beef, forequarters, is worth 2}d per lb, forequarters is worth 3§d. Other quotations unchanged since last telegram. Tallow : Tallow is dull of sale ; quotations unchanged since last telegram. New Zealand hemp : Market dull and irregular ; medium is worth LlB 10s per ton." AUSTRALIAN COMMERCIAL. Sydney, July 20. Wheat : Chick, 3s 3d to 3s 6d ; milling, 4s 6d to 4s Bd. Millers are fully stocked with New Zealand sorts. Owing to the fall in Victorian wheat there is a diminished inquiry for New Zealand, of which the quality is faulty. The oat market is cleared ; feeding, 2s 8d to 2s 9d; seed, 2s lOd to 3s. There are no stocks on hand. Maize, 3s. Pease : Prussian Blue, 4s. Bran, Is Id. Pollard, Is 3d. Potatoes : New Zealand, L 2 5s to L 2 10s; Circular Heads, L 3 10s to L 3 15s. Onions, L 3 153. Butter : Local dairy, Is Gd ; factory, Is 9d ; New Zealand, Is 6d. Cheese : New Zealand, 7d. Bacon : New Zealand, 7d. Melbourne, July 20 Wheat, 'quiet, at 3s Id. Flour: Stone, L 8 10s to L 8 15s ; roller L 9 9s to L9 lss. Oats : Algerian, 2s ljd ; stout, 2s 3d. Adelaide, July 20. Wheat, quiet, at 4s Id. Flour : Stone, L9to L 9 ss ; roller L 9 15s to LlO.
