BALD HILL PLAT.
May 12.— A stack fire occurred here late on Saturday night last ; a large oaten stack, the property of Mr Gibson, being destroyed. There was, I believe, no insurance on it, and the origin of the fire is unknown. As the stacks were in close proximity to the dwelling house and outbuildings, it required the greatest exertions on the part of the occupants to save them. As the crops here this season were very light, the loss will be doubly felt. School Committee.— At the recent meeting of householders re the election of school committo, Messrs Carrol, Crossan, Butler, Burton, Gray, Reeves, and M'Donnell, were elected. At a meeting held subsequently, Mr R. J. Webb and Mr F. W? Gray were appointed clerk and chairman respectively for the ensuing year.
