A Wellington telegram states that in the championship matches Poneke beat Melrose by four points (a goal and a try) bo nil, and the Athletics.'. beat Wellington by three, points (a , potted goal) to one point. In the "Junior Cup match St. Patrick's College Fifteen beat, the Rivals Second by 23 points to nil ; the Union Second beat the Athletic Second by a try to nil.
