The football match between Auckland representatives and a representative team fmm the Thames was played to-day at the tramway company's ground, and resulted in a win for Auckland by 15 points to 3. Braund doing good work in this respe*^ Mackie played a fine game, making some good runs, just missing scoring on several occasion's/ ! Tarfield was also in graria-form, and Stephenson J 1 and Masefield were vary conspicuous. ' ' Crow ' and Hobsoh showed best; form amongst the Auckland forwards. Of' the Thames players, Poland, Jordan, M'Gregor, and Mororiey did fine work, but the full back Buchanan was poor.' Amongst, the forwards Brotvnlee, M'Nie, and Wabente were beet; ' The visiting team were entertained at dinner thi3 evening.
