Reefton Mining Notes. (From Our Own Correspondents.) Reefton, August 11.
The following are the battery returns for the past week : — Keep-it-Dark, 3680z amalgam from 186 tons ; Progress, 660z emalgam from 90 tons ; Globe, 116oz amalgam from 190 tons. August 14. Globe. — It is reported that an important improvement is showing in the face, the quality of the stone being much better than of late, in consequence of which shaiCß are again on the rise, being now quoted at from 26s to 26s 6d. Hard-to-Find. — The prospecting going on in this ground has resulted in the discovery of 20in of stone, which is reported to carry good gold. The lease is situated north of the Sir Francis Drake on the same line.
