The ordinary meeting of the Portobello .School Committee was held on the 20th March. Present— Mcssis J. Wcaton (eha'rinan), 11. Beatsou, J. M'Cartney, S. Gill, and VV. 11. Latham. Mr Latham reported that tho swings fur tho use of tho children had been erected, and that the cost of the material and tho putting up of the same amounted altogether to the sum of £9 18s Del. A report in re tho compelling of the children to attend tho school, in the shapo of a copy of police regulations, and alto tho Dames of children who wure not attending tho school, was read by the Chairman. No other business being before the Committee, tho meeting terminated. The Peninsula County Council holds its annual meeting on Fr day, tho 2ith iiiat., at 12 o'clock, at Watson's Dinnin^-rooma, Duucdin.
