CHATTON.
(PROM A CORRBBPONBBST.)
March 18th. Agricultural matters in this district are very promising so far. Wheu the dry season that we have experienced here is considered, I think that no one need be dissatisiied with the yield that we are likely to have ; of course we don't want any gales just now. The best crop of wheat that I know of in this district is on the farm of Mr John Dlcloaon, of Chatton. Judging from appearances, I believe it will yield wot less than 40 bushels per acre. Mr James Todd.alßo ef Ohatton, has a splendid paddock of °a tß - the t b , cB * that I have heard of in the district. It will yield, I believe, fully 80 bushels pel acre. The crop ig ol the sparrowbill variety- a short, plump oat, with a peculiar little turn at One end. A crop of the s»me oats, on the farm of Mr William Cubbin, of Otauw, last year, averaged 100 bushels per acre. Tho unsettlod state of the weathor Jatoly has helped to keep farming operations back a good bit, but still we are iretttuK on. Thrashing; hoa commoncod at two or three places, and will soon be pretty general all over the dietriet, aa threshing.mUla are plentiful here this year.
