TAIERI BEACH. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.)
August 10th. It is my painful duty this week to reoord the death of Mr Wm. Coutts, one of our most respected residents. Mr Coutts was an old colonist, having been in the employment of Mr Yalpy when that gentleman owned the Forbury. He was a man of most genial disposition, and beloved and respeoted by all with whom he came in contact ; and sincere indeed has been the sympathy of the people of this distriofc with him in his illness, and now with his widow and ten orphaned children. He was a man of robust constitution, and until a few months ago enjoyed excellent health. He web undergoing medical treatment for what was considered to be only a temporary affection, but, alas ! it has proved otherwise. He took seriously ill on Friday, the 30th ull;., and passed away almost imperceptibly on Saturday last at 1 p.m. He was a good Christian man,' and the consoling comfort remains to his loved ones that his end was peace.
