THE CHAMPIONSHIPS.

The last stage of the seventh and eighth matches was tired on the afternoon of the 6th inst. Oakey was one of the last to fire, and required to nmke 20 to win the bolt. He made six bull's-eyes, and then the crowd cheered him to the echo. This seemed to unnerve him, and he finished with an outer. This is the grandest finish that has ever been made for I,he championship, and not a single Volunteer begrudges him his position. Twice to-day he has made 100 at the same ranges, out of a possible 112. Kogers, who takes the third aggregate place, was the only competitor who has secured a prize in every match yet fired.
