COURT PRIDE OF DUNEDIN. A.O.F.
The fifteenth anniversary of the A.O.F.' Court Pride of Dunedin, No. 3780, was cele-' brated by a soiree, concert, and ball on the 3rd, in the Temperance Hall. P.D.C.R' Bro. R. Stevenson presided, and considering the numerous counter attractions, there was. a very good attendance. Bro. John Wilson (Secretary) read the fifteenth annual report, congratulating the Court upon its present numerical and financial position. The number of members now on the roll is 209 financial and 17 unfinancial, or 226 in all, showing a loss of 6 members during the year ending 26th June, 1877. Tne receipts amounted to £971 6s 4d, and the expenditure to £729 4s sd, leaving a balance in favour of the Society of £242 Is lid, which, added to the former balance, gives a grand total of £2896 9a 6d, or £13 5s 8d per financial member. The amount of sickness experienced is still very far below the average in Great Britain. It may be interesting to know that Forestry still maintains its position, and is rapidly extending all over the world. On the blst December, 1876, the Order consisted of 253 Districts, 4376 Courts, and 509,519 benefit members, worth £2,344,968, being an increase for the year of 8 Districts, 53 Courts, and 18,323 members. This is exclusive of Juvenile Courts, with 35,543 members and about £25,000 funds.
The tea provided by Mr Kroon having been heartily discussed, a well-diversifled concert programnie was given. Mr M. Moss presided at the piano. The several lady and gentleman amateurs were generally successful in eliciting the most enthusisstic applause. However, the ball seemed to be the principal Bource of attraction.
