RETAIL PRICES.

Mkat.— Beef, roasting, 6d to 8d per lb. j steaks, 6d to 8d perlb j boiling, 3d to 6d ; mutton, 2Jd to 4&d ; pork and veal, 8d to lOd. To hotels, 4£d to 5d all round. Pojtltry. — Fowls, 4s to 6fl per couple; ducks, 6s to 8s perpair ; geese, 12s to 16s do ; turkeys, 10 to 20s each ; pigeons, 2s 6d to 3s do ; rabbits, 3a 6d to 4s per pair. STOCK AND PRODUCE REPORTS.

Messrs Weight, Stsphenson, and Co, report:—

Messrs Wright. Stephenson, and Co. report, for the week ending 25th February, as follows : —

Fat Cattle. — None were yarded, and the trade are only moderate'y supplied. We sold privately 20 head at L 6 ISs each, equal to 18s per 100 lbs. We quote prime quality, 20s per 100 lbs ; middling do, 17s 6d. Fat Sheep.— Market fairly supplied. We sold for delivery 500 merino wethers at lsd per lb. We quote prime quality, half-bred*, l|d per lb ; merino wethers, Igd ; fat ewes, lid. FatLuubc. -About 80 were yarded and sold readily at from 6s 0d to 8s 3d each.

Store Cattle. — No transactions. Store Sheep.— We have buyers for almost every olass o! store sheep ; but prices being rather low, only a limited number are offer* ing. We sold 1700 half-bred lambs at 4s 6d each, 95 Leicester ewes and awe lambs at 30s to 50s each, 45 do ram lambs at 45a to 60s. We quote 2, 4, and 6 tooth half-hreds at 6s 6d to 6s each ; mixed lambi, 4s 6d each j merino wethers, 4, 6, and 8 tooth, at 4s 3d to 4s 8d each I ewes, 4 and 6-tooth, 4s to 4s 6d ; do, foil-mouthed, 3a ; mixed lambs, 3s 3d.

Horses. — Our market was completely glutted with horses of a light and inferior class. There is still a fair demand for good young draught stock. On Saturday we sold, ■among others, the following mobs j— On ao* count of Mr Smith, 20 head light aad weedy, at from L 4 to Ll4 10a ; on account of Mr Prosaer, 10 head, most of them adapted for coaching, at from L 7 to Lls ; on account of M<- Carter. 10 useful haoks, at from L 7 10« toLld. We quote first-olass draughts, L4Q to L 45 ; middling ditto, L 25 to L 32;3 2; first' class saddle and light harness horses, Lift to L2O ; middling ditto, Ll2 to Ll4 j inferior, L4toL7.

Grain. — Wheat. — Market fairly supplied with new of very superior quality. We. have effected Bales of several lots at 4s 3d, which may be taken as market rate. O*ts.—r Some very superior lots of new have been offered, but m the supply of old is not yet exhausted, no transactions of consequence hive taken place/ We quote old oats 2a 94 to 3s ; new, 2s 6d to 2s Bd. Barley.— Fair samples of malting are wanted, ana would command from 3s 6d to 4s.

Messrs Drives, Stewart, and Co. report for the week ending 25th February as fol« lows : —

Fat Cattle.— There has been a slightly brisker demand daring the past week, but prices have not materially altered. No cattle have been yarded, for public sale. Quotations, prime quality, 18s 64 per 100 Iba j medium, about lbs.

Fat Sheep. — The market is beoomlog bare, and an advance of \d. per 1b may be quotec for finest quality. Some very prime hay breds have changed haada at 2d per lb. Vp quote prune merino mutton at Ifd for ifward delivery. ,

Store Sheep.— We note a continual g*od demand for half-breds, and merino lanba and wethers. Of the former there areaone offering. Sales of lambs have been ooncuded at 3a 3d, and we have transactions pmding in 4, 6, and 8 tooth wethers at 4s 3c to 4s 6d. 2 tooth wethers are enquired f<r at 3s 9dto4s.

Store Cattle. —We have no sales o! import* anoe to record. We sold a few held at Palmerston on the 24th, at 30s to L 5 2i 6d each.

Wool.— Our sale on the 22nd instant was well attended, when about 275 bafea ohanged hands at full rates, a list of whichhas already been published.

Messrs Power, Panixin, aid Co. report that the Run, with improvements and stock, offered for sale » y auction on Wednesday was purchased by Mr John Ambrose Douglas, for the sum of Ll 1,200, cash; stores, imple* ments. horses, crops, furniture, &c., &0., to be taken at a valuation.

A sata of Government sections, situate in the township of Balolutaa, took place there on the 20th ult. Nineteen sections were sold, at prices ranging from L 2 to L 5 10s each.
