MANAWHENUA BEATON. Wanganui decisively defeated Manawhenua at Wanganui on Wednesday by 22 points to "8. The visitors showed their best form in the first half, when they held Wanganui to a (i to 3 lead -at the interval. Wanganui were impressive in the last half, and outgeneralled their opponents at all points. The home forwards gave Duncan many opportunities, and he opened up the game on every possible occasion, and scores were registered as a result. Darby, who came on in place of Byres, who was injured in the early stages of the game, played a lively forward game for the home side, and made his presence felt the moment he eame on the field, scoring two quick succession, and during the game was responsible for two more scoring movements. Though beaten the visitors did not lose heart and kept pegging away Tight to the end. The game was played under ideal conditions, and there was a good raid-week attendance. JUNIOR CONTEST. A match that should be the means of drawing quite a crowd will be the one between Otaki and Wanderer juniors which takes place at Otaki ou Saturday afternoon at 2.45.
