Otautau School Committee.

All the members of the above Committee ' were present at tbe meeting held m the School last night. On the motion of Messrs Brooker and Tonkinson, it was decided that the dux medal be awarded, but no other prizes. It was also resolved to hold a picnio at Colac Bay on the third Thursday m February, aad that Aparima, Scotts Gap, Glad field, Fairfax, Waikouro aud Ferdunlaw schools be invited to join m. The sum of £5 is to be awarded for sports. The Secretary reported a balance of £9 to 31at December, which was- considered satisfactory m view of the demands which hod been mode upon the funds. A very hearty vote of thanks was accorded by acclamation to Mr Lawless and staff for their promptness ln turning out the school children on tho occasion of the peace celebrations.
