SUCCESS ASSURED

annual race meeting good fields engaged .lust over sixty horses will he engaged in the Opunake Racing nuh f s annual m ermg on Saturday mxt, ami in practically nil of the eight events, excellent fields are earned. There is a disappointing entry tor the Opunake Cup. the chief race _ of the day, where four of the eight nominees are defections, hut other events arc well up to expectations.

Club supporters are particularly pleased with the number of acceptors in the juvenile event, v, here nine horses have been entered on the card. Apparently, owners and trainers in the province appreciate this provision for competition among* two and “tree-year-olds, and the Club will have tin cause to regret its inclusion in ilie programme. The largest field is that in the Maiden handicap of six furlongs, acceptance fees having been paid for twelve horses. As this is the second event of the day, the race should supply much of the interest attached to the meeting.

Other events pvell patronised are the President’s, with ten probable starters, and the Electric handicap, which has drawn nine acceptors. The fields will be reviewed in our Friday's issue by our sporting writer “Form” who will discuss the prospects of the horses
